Summary: Creating my own website to use as a personal portfolio… with no templates!
I started this project by purchasing the Jammymedia.co.uk domain and added basic theme files to the site. I knew that I didn’t want to use a template, so I began with my header and footer.
My homepage design utilises the Flex HTML property to customise the display of elements on both desktop and mobile devices. This responsive layout compensates for the 90% of users that use mobile.
I tried to implement this approach to the rest of the sites design, always thinking of how the design will look on the desktop.
What would usually be classed as service pages, I have changed them to expertise pages. I chose four of my strongest skills and made them into pages so that you can learn a little more about how I use them in my working role, personal work and in my free time.
The four expertise pages include: SEO, Website Development, Graphic Design and Social Media.
Summary: HowCodingWorks is being used to educate beginner web-developers and script-writers on platforms such as TikTok and YouTube
I began HowCodingWorks to expand my knowledge and skills within the web development and coding industry. I am currently working on a website design for HowCodingWorks to simultaneously upload videos and articles online and on social media.

Summary: Working for a local gaming shop to enhance their e-commerce website design.
One of my colleagues at work mentioned that the gaming shop Bad Wolf Gaming needed website work, and straight away, I offered my help. After meeting with the owner and discussing their needs, I got the website logons and started right away.
The website, when I started working on it, was quite basic and there were a few bugs that needed addressing right away. For example, the search bar did not work and you could only search from the homepage.
My first task was to start with these bugs and get this search bar working so that users could find what they are looking for without having to scroll through the entire website.
The problem was found within the theme editor, were the search results were set to show categories and not what the user had typed in. Here is the end product:

I have also since redesigned some of the different pages across the site, such as the events page.
Summary: Producing a set of takeaway box designs for a local takeaway using Adobe Dimension and Adobe Illustrator
My current working position at UK Moneyman Ltd, a national mortgage broker in Hull, has allowed me to gain experience within the financial industry. From writing, I have been working for UK Moneyman Ltd for three years now, and counting.
This job role has allowed me to significantly expand my knowledge within the financial sector and develop my digital marketing skills. I did however, want a new challenge and grow my knowledge even further, in a new sector.
In order to set myself apart from other digital marketer freelancers, I approached a local takeaway to ask whether they needed any help on their social channels or anything else digital marketing related. Here is where the owner asked whether I would be interested in designing some new takeaway boxes for them. Although I knew that project could a challenge for me as I had no idea how to model 3D objects, I still took it on to challenge my graphic design capabilities.
My first step was to get an idea of what size the boxes needed to be. I went back into the takeaway and took a pizza box and a chicken box (unfortunately empty) to get some measurements for them. Once I had these, I started making some artboards in Adobe Illustrator.
I started with recreating the logo in illustrator before making the box design. Using the colour picker tool, I was able to get their colours for their logo.
Once I has finished preparing the logos, I was able to implement them into my takeaway box artboards.
Now that I had the design for the pizza box ready, I could replicate it for the chicken box size.
The software I used to 3D model the designs was Adobe Dimension, a software I had never used before. To speed up this process I imported a pizza box and takeaway box 3D model so that I could easily import my Adobe Illustrator designs onto the boxes.
This is the final product for the pizza box design in Adobe Dimension. I managed to export the chicken box design for you to take a look at for yourself!
